The American University in Cairo (AUC) is Egypt’s significant higher education institution. It provides a diverse array of undergraduate and graduate programs.

As students prepare to apply to AUC, one of the most critical questions is whether AUC accepts SAT scores. The answer is yes; AUC does accept SAT scores as part of its admissions requirements.

To be considered for admission to AUC, applicants must submit various documents and meet specific academic standards.

Aside from high school transcripts and standardized test results, AUC also mandates the submission of a personal statement, recommendation letters, and supplementary documents. AUC accepts various standardized tests, including SAT, ACT, IGCSE/GCSE, and similar exams.

It is important to note that while SAT scores are accepted, they are not the only factor AUC considers when evaluating an applicant’s academic potential. AUC takes a holistic approach to admissions, which means that the university considers a wide range of factors when making admissions decisions.

These factors include an applicant’s academic record, extracurricular activities, personal qualities, and other factors demonstrating their potential to succeed at AUC.

SAT Requirement and Acceptance

The American University in Cairo (AUC) is a highly selective institution that welcomes international student applications. AUC accepts both the SAT and ACT as part of its application process for undergraduate admission.

However, submitting SAT scores is not mandatory, and applicants can choose to submit ACT scores instead.

If you choose to submit SAT scores, AUC wants a minimum of 1100 on the SAT Reasoning Test (or 24 on the ACT). Yet, meeting this score doesn’t guarantee admission. AUC reviews applicants thoroughly, considering grades, extracurriculars, recommendations, and more for a complete picture.

It is also important to note that AUC does not require SAT Subject Tests for admission. However, some programs within AUC may require applicants to submit Subject Test scores as part of their application.

Prospective students should check the program requirements to determine whether SAT Subject Test scores are necessary.

For international students who do not speak English as their first language, AUC requires proof of English proficiency. This can be demonstrated through a minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL iBT or 6.5 on the IELTS.

Alternatively, applicants can submit SAT or ACT scores to prove their English language proficiency if they meet the minimum score requirements.
